Pinkpop

Hi!

Last weekend I was with a dear friend, Rose, at Pinkpop. A Dutch festival in the south of The Netherlands. I’ve been there in 2013 for a day and went back in 2014 for a whole weekend. Now I thought it was time to go back there again and make some new great memories.

Pinkpop

Pinkpop

That was a very good choice, because it was astonishing!

In this article you can read about my adventures there and ofcourse who I’ve seen.

Day 1

Pinkpop

On the first day of the festival there were people planned that most people were coming there for; Justin Bieber and Martin Garrix.

I wasn’t going there for JB, but Rose really wanted to go to him, but you read that in a sec.

Let’s first start at the beginning.

At 4 o’clock in the morning my alarm clock went off. I packed my stuff, got into the car, picked up Rose at her house and off we went!

Driving there wasn’t the problem, it was about 2 ½ hours ride, but we had so much fun in the car that the time flew by. The real problem began when we got there. So they have three campings to set up your tent, camping A, B and C.

A and B where more for the younger people that enjoys an after party and doesn’t mind the music that people can play early in the morning. C is for the people that do like some silence after a long day of music.
We wanted to be on camping B, but parked the car accidentally in front of camping C. The campings are a 15 minutes walk after each other, so nothing to worry, except when you are carrying about 10 kg. of weight on you shoulders an in your hands and you need to walk up a hill! This had us stop at every 10 metres because one of us needed a break, but we made it eventually! We put the tent down and I napped for 1 ½ hour after that because I really was tired.

Although the worst thing isn’t the walking to the camping really, I mean it’s hard, but it makes it harder having that voice in your head and the stress of getting a good spot at the camping. I don’t know if you have ever been at a festival camping, but the tents are really, really near each other!

Pinkpop

3 o’clock in the afternoon, Pinkpop started! We were going to see some good dutch bands like Chef’special and Kensington, but also Justin Bieber and Martin Garrix. As I said earlier, I’m not a fan of Justin, I do like his last album though, but I went there because Rose wanted to and I stayed with her during the concert.

Day 2

This day I saw a band that I was waiting to get the chance for since I was about 14 years old. I saw Green Day, but from very up close! There were only two people between me and the fence, that’s how close I was.
It wasn’t easy though, we waited for them for 4 hours at the main stage. Before them Broederliefde (A dutch rap band) and Imagine Dragons were performing but we had still two hours to fill in. I entertained myself with my mobile and talking to strangers, it wasn’t that hard. I did get two times an elbow against my head and sore feet from standing, but in the end it was all worth it!

Pinkpop

Day 3

The last day of the great grand weekend. We decided we wanted to make the day a bit more relaxing than the ones before. We wanted to see more of the actual area, since there weren’t bands we wanted to see from up close, this was possible.

Pinkpop

We saw some great spots on the festival, ate delicious things and I bought a very cute top and bottom from a little store that was there.

Also there was a large building set up so when you were standing above it, you can see the whole Pinkpop area, and that was so cool to see!

This day we did see: Rag’n’bone Man, Sum 41 (also a band I was crazy about 7 years ago), Mø and Kings Of Leon.

That were the three days of Pinkpop, three days that I will never forget.

And I know already that this wasn’t my last time going to Pinkpop!

Who would you really like to see live sometime?

Greenhouse Festival

Greenhouse Festival

Hi!

About two weeks ago I ran upon a Facebook event for the Greenhouse Festival in Amsterdam. Well actually, the title of the event was: “This is how you keep your plants alive” and was organised by Wildernis.

So yeah the moment I read the title I knew I had to go here. Why? Because I had some succulents that died and I don’t want that to happen again! (yes, I know, but keeping succulents is actually harder than it looks!)

Greenhouse Festival

12:00 PM, I sat down at the stage for the reading hosted by Wildernis about how to keep your plants alive. The whole time I made notes on my phone because I didn’t want to forget any of it! The reading was really interesting and ofcourse after it, I was determined that I wanted an another plant for my little family.

After the reading I took a walk at the event. The event was at the Transformatorhuis and inside I looked like walking around in a rainforest. Everywhere you looked, beautiful plants!

Greenhouse Festival

The reading wasn’t the only thing there. There were also some workshops you could follow and lots of shops. There was one shop where they sold books about plants and a really cute notebook I almost bought (I already have to many to fill) And ofcourse the most shops sold plants.

At the entrance there was a device standing there. The girl who was with the device, told me that when you post a picture on Instagram with the hashtag #greenhousefestival, she could make a magnet out of it! Ofcourse I had to do this, so I walked around, took a pretty picture, uploaded it and now I have it forever on a cute magnet. You see the magnet on the first picture at the beginning of this post.

Greenhouse Festival

In the end, after seeing many plants, I chose to take a pancake plant to take home with me. I bought this supercute plant at Wildernis.  Also I bought a small book about houseplants that they made together with my favorite magazine, Flow magazine.

Greenhouse Festival

At this moment I have three cactuses, one succulent and one pancake plant! (I really love the name of the plant)

Ofcourse I won’t stop here, but I don’t want to fill my whole room with plants. I will keep it with small plants at the moment and when I move out, I certainly will buy some bigger ones.

Do you have any plants at home?

Much love,

Hotspot – Bulls and dogs

Hotspot – Bulls and dogs

Hi!

Lately my sister found a very nice place to go to in Amsterdam. A place where hot dogs and milkshakes are the important pants of the menu. How awesome is that!

Hotspot - Bulls and dogs

It did took a while to get there when we got off the subway, but it really was worth it when we got there!

So I didn’t took that many pictures of the inside of the place. That’s because, and this may sound stupid, the place was filled with girls that just got out of school that day and they all looked very fashionable. It was like you took some people from Instagram and dropped them all right in that place, if you know what I mean haha. So yeah I felt a bit ashamed to take pictures, not very handy when you’re a blogger but I did manage to make some!

Hotspot - Bulls and dogs

So let me tell you something about what we ordered there. They are really famous from their “Freakalicious Milkshakes” so ofcourse we had to try these out! These milkshakes don’t even look delicious and beautiful, they were freaking delicious. They have various different milkshakes from ones with strawberry or banana to “Sparkling Disco Party” Well if that doesn’t make you happy!

Hotspot - Bulls and dogs

I chose the “Crazy Vanilla Madness” and my sister had the “Fancy Mokka Mania”. We also had some food because we were hungry. So I took the “The Funky Fresh Dog” and my sister the “Curly Fries”. Together it all costed €22.

Amazing place to hang out with friends, order some fancy drinks and chat all day. I really would have gone there more if it was in a area in Amsterdam that I go to more. I’m not a student anymore, so I never go to this area. It also hasn’t really got good connections with the subway, you can go there by tram. So are you close by or do you study close by the Woustraat in Amsterdam, be sure to check it out.

My planning system

My planning system

Hi!

Planning my day is a really important thing for me. If I don’t do that, my head will just explode from all the incentives (I don’t really know if this is the right word for it, but to explain, I mean like little clouds in your head of thoughts, ideas and things that happened that are clouding up your sight to see clearly.) I get. I can get really irritated and stressed if I don’t write things down. Because of that, I have some experience with finding the right planner. Now I still haven’t found it. I still change my planning system often, but I do want to share with you how it looks like right now!

Well I haven’t even tried out that much different kinds of planners, but I have tried out some of Hema. Like the regular weekly planners with some space to write down things for every day. These really worked out for me when I was in school, but I found that I needed something more for my life right now. So I do have a planner from Hema. It’s a minimalistic planner with a timeline for every day to write your appointments. The cover was black, that was a little too simple for me, I wanted to have a really nice one like you see on the internet much. With very artistic covers and a customisable inside. (only those are a little too expensive if you ask me) But this also really out for me, only I DIY-ed it to make it more personal!

So let’s take a look at the planners I’m using right now to plan out my life!

Hema Planner

First of all, the planner I bought at Hema and DIY-ed. This is the planner I use the most at the moment. In this planner you can find an overview of all the months and dates of 2017 and 2018, monthly overviews and weekly overviews. Especially the monthly overviews are really welcome, you don’t have those in the other planners from Hema I talked about.

My planning system

Monthly

These spreads are my planner for my blog and goals. Here I write down the articles I wrote and uploaded and just everything important for my blog. Also I use this to write down my goals for that month, but I’m thinking of moving that to another planner. Keep reading to know where I want to move that to!

You can also find a tracker here. I don’t have that much time to track things like how much water I drink and how much I sleep, but I do want to track the days I blog, post something on instagram, journal and write morning pages. When the month is ending, I also will write down how much days of the total days of the month I have done that. It’s really interesting to see how much time I have put into that task!

To brighten it all up, I use the zebra mildliners for a color code with their beautiful colours.

My planning system

Weekly

This is the place where everything in my week comes together. I write down my appointments, the days I work, birthdays and everything I need to remind that week. These pages are more minimalistic than my monthly spreads. You see in the pictures that I’ve used things like colorful pens and washi tape to brighten it up, but the weeks are going really fast and it will all be too much if I also do that with my weekly spreads. I do like to make the special days more beautiful as you can see in the pictures! So I only use a black pen and the Mildliners. To color code my tasks. The red/pink one for appointments and important things and the grey one to highlight the days I work.

Bullet Journal

Something I started last year and really have used a lot. Back when I was in school, I had the time to make weekly spreads with weekly trackers and just used it as my everyday planner. It took a lot of time to make those spreads and didn’t had time for it when I started working a full-time job. So in the months after that I’ve used it as an expense journal. And some time ago I started looking at the beautiful pictures on instagram from bullet journals and their colorful and really detailed spreads. I fell in love again and wanted to give it a second chance!

Still it will be different from when I started using it for the first time. It’s minimalistic now and do use some colours, but there won’t be any comprehensive trackers and things like that. I wished I could do that, but I rather use the time I have for journalling.

So what can you find in my bullet journal? Ofcourse I will keep on tracking my expenses and incomings, because that really helped me knowing where my money is going to and to save up money rather than just spending it all on things and questioning myself at the end of the month where the hell my money went to!
And you can also find daily todo-lists of my free days in it. Before I used a regular ruled A4 notebook for this, but I wanted to move that to my Bullet journal. To give my free days structure I make a todo-list and a time-schedule. I’ve already used this system some days and it really worked out for me!

My planning system

To answer the question of where I want to move my goals to, I want to move it to my Bullet Journal. 🙂

My planning system

Work Journal

The last thing I use as a planner is a ruled A6 notebook, also from Hema that I take with me when I am working. Here I wrote a monthly overview and after that there are two pages for good and learning things that happened that month. It’s just to reflect on my days and make notes to clear out my head at the end of a workday!

My planning systemMy planning system

Throughout the years have used more planners at the same time, and I’m still doing that because it works out for me. I always find some things that are missing in a planner and I do find that in other ones. That way I have everything I need, only in more than one planner.
A
n example: I like my planner from Hema, but I miss more pages for notes to write down different trackers. And with the Bullet Journal system, I have the space I need for different trackers and stuff, but I find it difficult to plan ahead. Combine those two, and that makes the perfect system for me right now.

And that’s all, my planning system!

What do you use to plan your days with?

5 wallpapers you’ll need for spring

5 wallpapers you’ll need for spring

Hey guys!

Recently I bought a new laptop and thought it was time to look for some really nice wallpapers. Also spring is almost around the corner and ofcourse then we’ll need some fresh and floral ones!

So in this post I just wanted to show you some nice designs I found and love to use for my new laptop. The one I’m using right now is one from the last link that you’ll see down below. I love the minimalistic design and gives my new laptop a chic look.

I think the choice of your wallpaper says so much about your personality. For me a good wallpaper is very important. I sometimes struggle to do what I have to do when I start my laptop up. It’s because I’m kind of a big dreamer and am distracted very easily. Ofcourse the first thing you see when you start your laptop is your wallpaper. I’ve had the “just begin” wallpaper from www.sisoo.com before this my recent one. Something like that gets my focus back to where it has to be and gets me started!

Note : On most of these sites there are more available than just the one I show you so click on the link and check them out!

I hope you like them and that you’ll see one to brighten up your background!
